Why clean them before the first wear
Winter jackets and coats spend most of the year packed away in a wardrobe or storage space. Even if you put them away clean in spring, months in storage let dust settle into the fabric, and it can pick up odours from wherever it’s been kept. Cleaning before the first wear of the season also restores water-repellent treatment, which naturally fades over time and helps a jacket shed rain and snow.
What to check specifically
Waterproofing on winter jackets. If your jacket let water through last winter, it likely needs a fresh layer of waterproofing, not just a wash. This can be ordered as an add-on alongside standard cleaning.
Lining and zippers. Autumn is a good time to spot small issues – a loose zipper or a torn lining can be fixed now, rather than in January when you’re wearing the jacket every day.
Fur and leather. Fur and leather pieces need different care than a standard jacket – don’t put them in a home washing machine, the material may not survive it.
When exactly to do it
The ideal window is right now, at the start of autumn – not in November, when you’re already wearing the jacket daily with nothing to wear instead, and not in January in the middle of winter. Cleaning in September or October means you’ll have a ready, dry jacket for the first genuinely cold day.

Pickup and delivery are free on orders over 1,990 CZK – if you’re cleaning several pieces at once (say, for the whole family), you’ll usually clear that threshold easily.
