Grass stains
Chlorophyll from grass is a protein-based stain that “sets” into fabric fibres quickly, especially on kids’ light-coloured and sports clothing. Hot water actually fixes it in place even more – so never try to boil a grass stain out. The sooner the item reaches professional washing, the better your chances of removing it completely.
Sweat stains
Sweat on its own doesn’t cause the stain – the problem is the reaction between sweat and the aluminium in antiperspirants, which gradually yellows the underarms of white t-shirts and shirts. It’s one of the hardest stains to remove once it’s had a whole summer to “settle in” – it’s best dealt with as it happens, not left until the end of the season.
Sunscreen stains
Oils and UV filters in sunscreen leave greasy marks that often only show up after washing at home (the stain wasn’t visible at first, but after drying and ironing it “burns” into a darker mark). Professional grease removal handles stains that a regular detergent leaves behind in the fabric.
What to do the moment a stain happens
Don’t rub it – rubbing works the stain deeper into the fibre and damages the fabric structure. Gently blot excess liquid or cream with a paper towel and leave the rest to professional treatment, ideally as soon as possible, not after you get back from holiday two weeks later.
What it costs
Standard washing and ironing for everyday clothing is priced the same as any standard order – for heavily soiled items (grass, grease), some pre-treatment may be needed, which we always assess individually once we’ve received the item.
Don’t let summer stains wait. Book a pickup as soon as possible after a stain happens – your chances of removing it completely go up significantly.
